We aren't going anywhere, we'll get going one of these
fine months... The halters we will sell are hand-tied by us, 3 cowgirl
craftswomen, (ranch mom & 2 cowgirl daughters) with care and a discerning
eye for detail. Every piece me make is what we use ourselves, and we demand
honest, tough, hardworking tack, that look nice. (just like our horses!)
These halters are made with good quality unbreakable hard solid core braided
nylon rope, (strong, stiff, around 1/4" to 5/16" diameter) tied with genuine
water (double overhand/ or blood) knots, a genuine fiador knot, and copper
clamped tie-ends. We have a friend who is building the halter jig plus making
us a couple sizes of those clamps for us now, and that has just plain taken
him much longer than we figured on, due to serious health issues w/ his
wife.
Policies
Satisfaction guaranteed - with 30 day money
back guarantee full refund, except shipping costs. These are hard solid working
and training halters. The rope is hard (stiff), stout enough, and holds its
shape (has "life") - not flimsy. Good halter rope is not expensive; but
it has to be the right kind. We have used hard rope halters in natural
horsemanship since 1989, and we have tied halters since 1990, and have now
begun fabricating halters that meet our demands in price and quality. These
halters are a great service to offer alongside the horses we sell worldwide...
so many buyers want to know where they can get the highest quality rope halters
at a more affordable price... There are hand tied halters available everywhere
these days, but when you get one, they are usually tied with a flimsy rope
or with short-cut knots & details. Or when you do find the well made
genuine cowboy halters, you can hardly afford them any more. We intend for
Montana Halters to fill this niche and provide what the industry is really
looking for at a price we can all afford. Later, we expect to offer a premium
quality halter tied of double diamond braid rope, for the most discriminating
horsemen, it is said the "life" in this rope is exceptional.
Wholesale & International Shipping Charges: Go to the
www.usps.com or
www.ups.com and fill

10' lead rope weighs 1 lb 5 oz.
Montana Rope-Halters Company: We are a sole proprietorship located
in Montana, south of Billings Montana on the Crow Reservation. We have full-time
day jobs, plus we ranch, raise nice using registered horses, including
hypoallergenic ranch horses, and do websites. We have been tying halters
off and on since 1990. Now as a small home ranching business we have many
brands in the fire, so we are sometimes hard to catch by phone. We will operate
almost entirely by online order & mail order. We do not have long distance
service on our telephone, so cannot return long distance calls at this time.
We do return all email correspondence, and you can try to catch us by phone
when tying halters & not on the internet. We are primarily a small wholesale
manufacturer and are gearing up to sell in wholesale fashion, to retail stores
or ranches.
Wholesale Order Buyers can mail us a company check with an enclosed
order form (we'll make those available here in downloadable Acrobat Adobe
.pdf formats), indicating your halter preferences and we'll ship the halters
out to you immediately by UPS or USPS (usually on the same day we receive
your order - or within 2 business days, if they are in stock). You should
have them within a week to 10 days. When you order halters or items not normally
kept in stock, please expect a delay to allow us to fill your custom order.
We won't have all colors to start out with, but our plan is to gather the
largest selection of color and noseband styles possible, in time. Check
ahead of time to confirm what is in stock & available for quick
shipment.
Credit Cards. We accept credit card payments made online through
PayPal.com.
Retail Sales: We will sell halters one at a time on a limited basis,
as our inventory allows, but our single retail prices will vary from our
wholesale prices. Retail price will start at $9/ halter limited to inventory
on hand. If you purchase a lead rope w/ any halter, it will still sell for
the wholesale price of 50¢ / ft.
More product information: Hand tied rope halters are labor intensive
but relatively easy to manufacture. You'll find many vendors for them in
the U.S. Some manufacturers are even buying foreign made goods and selling
them in the U.S. as American-Made. I have purchased many halters from many
sources, and many of them do not have nice blood knots, Fiador knots, or
lack sturdy metal end clamps, or are tied of flimsy, soft or cheap rope.
Our halters are hand tied by us here in Montana using an American-Made hard
core, diamond braid 5/16" polypropylene or nylon rope, ending with clamped
copper tubing.
Repair Parts: We also offer a heavy duty shrink wrap tube-end that
you can order for $1 ea, (they come in basic colors) to repair any old halters
you have laying around that have lost the fastening on the double tie ends.
These will heat with a hair dryer, and clamp up the ends for your horse's
comfort, and to prolong an older halter's life.
The knotted rope halter was originally designed to be fully adjustable.
The fiador knot, as well as all knots are hand tightened for ready use, but
are easily adjustable to fit the individual horse. The larger companies use
machines to tighten the knots on their mass produced halters. Try to adjust
their halters and you'll see that that has defeated the purpose of this design.
We use a halter tying "jig" that allows us to suck down the knots tightly
by hand, which is tight enough, but not too tight to open the knots for
adjustment. Once a horse stands tied and tugs on it though, it will be set
fairly tight.
Our standard lead ropes are 10 foot, tie-in lead ropes, and are 5/8"
double braided, manufactured poly rope and are priced wholesale at an easy
$5.00 each. The ends are burned to prevent unraveling.
Our Goal: We aim to tie halters that are better made than most, and
are the best value for the dollar on the market.
